YAY! Here we go again! I loved seeing last month's (June) Bible and Art challenge come to life over on Instagram. I am excited to kick off another one for July. I've added a study guide sheet to this month to help you really study and learn more about 4 WOMEN in the Bible. It features some of my personal art work and questions to aid in your studies.
You can grab the study guide sheet from my Etsy shop. It's a PDF printable, so you can download and start right away! The PDF is two pages. The first sheet lists the women and different scriptures to study for the month and the second sheet is full of questions to get you thinking about how these women played important roles in their communities and in God's story of salvation.
How does it work?
You will need 3 things: a Bible (with new and old testaments), study guide sheets and some art supplies you enjoy using.
Bible Study/Journaling
Each week there will be a section of scripture to study over. Read through the verses each day if you can. Ideally, you are spending time reading over the same section during the week. 3 - 4 times would be great! Ask God to speak to you through these verses and to open your heart and mind to what He wants to say to you. Use the study guide sheets to help you think through the stories or questions that come to mind. You can also look up other supporting scriptures or define certain words to gain deeper understanding. I also love journaling out my thoughts and questions.
Art
Use your notes and questions from your study guide sheets as a source of inspiration to create ONE art piece for the week. It can be a portion of the scripture written in pretty hand writing, scrap-booked stickers collaged together or an image that comes to mind painted in watercolor. Whatever your artistic style and expression is - it WORKS!
Community Sharing!
On Thursday of the week, I will be posting and sharing on Instagram some of my own personal studies and art that I've started for that week! Let's all share what we're learning and how scripture is inspiring our creativity. You can use the hashtag #ebcjulybibleart or you can tag me using the Instagram handle @emilybcreates. I would love see and share with others what you all are learning TOO!
Here are the scriptures for each week!
Week 1: Eve - Genesis chapters 2-3
Week 2: Ruth - Ruth chapters 1-3
Week 3: Esther - Esther chapters 1-3
Week 4: Mary - Luke 1:1-56
